350 Colorado — Movement Building Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Workshop
$1500 was awarded to 350 Colorado to help fund an ‘Embracing Inclusive Organizing’ Workshop which reached over 25 participants, a combination of experienced and new activists who were looking to learn and grow in their organizing. Through the workshop, participants developed an understanding around concepts of organizing that center inclusivity; ranging from language justice, youth leadership, and meaningfully addressing and remedying conflicts within teams.
350Colorado is an independent affiliate non-profit of 350.org National that is working to secure a fossil-free future, a just and equitable transition, and a liveable climate for all.
Report
Through the funding received by the Mountain Forum for Peace, we were able to co-produce and share with the community a two-part workshop series on ‘Embracing Inclusive Organizing’. We met our goal of reaching over 25 participants, a combination of experienced and new activists who were looking to learn and grow in their organizing.
We saw authentic and vulnerable engagement from participants as we created a shared foundation of understanding around basic concepts of organizing that center inclusivity; ranging from language justice, youth leadership, and meaningfully addressing and remedying conflicts within teams.
One of the major successes of the workshops was being able to provide simultaneous Spanish interpretation for participants. We had bilingual materials, slides, and follow-ups after the workshops, and participants shared that they felt welcomed and supported in their journey to learn about inclusive organizing.
