Spinning Silica — Clay Camp Scholarships

Nederland-based Spinning Silica offered a four-week course over the summer where children learned and experienced the healing power of clay. Skills included hand-building, glazing and finalizing. With $1,000 of MFP funding, Spinning Silica was able to award a scholarship each month to one child - worth $25 a day, four days a week for ten months for families in need of assistance. Any additional funds went towards materials, labor, kiln services, snacks and prizes.
